We are pleased that 300 competitors of 14 countries entered for the Hungarian Round of the Fifth CMAS World Cup. We would like to share some technical information with you for the sake of smoother arrangement.

First of all, every piece of information can be found on the website www.debrecenibuvarklub.hu, including the preliminary starting list.

Check it, please, and in case you have a problem with it, tell us.

After arriving on Friday, everybody is welcomed in the Árpád Swimming Pool of Hajdúszoboszló, where all of your equipment should be presented for technical check.

The bottles, fins, snorkels and swimming dresses will be checked on the left side of the hall of the swimming pool.

After checking, all of the bottles should be taken to the cellar of the pool - to the compressor.

You will receive the accommodation’s address and the meal voucher at registration, as usual.

The opening of the competition starts at 3 pm on Saturday. All competitors are asked to appear at 2.50 pm with unified equipment.

The accommodation has to be left by 10 am on Sunday morning, or in case of leaving on Monday, by 10 am on Monday.

As a lot of competitors entered for the competition, we try to speed up the arrangements. To do this, the competitors should present themselves at the starting judge in time.

At the starting, while one heat is swimming, the competitors of the other heat can already get dressed. The competitors should be warned not to dip their fins into the pool while dressing because of the electric stopwatch panel. There will be water provided at every lane for this purpose.

Most of the competitors will have lunch in the swimming pool. As the place is limited, everybody who is not swimming should go to have lunch from 11.30 am on so that everybody can finish on time.

To be more comfortable in the pool area, bring polifoam with you.

We would like to draw the teams’ attention to the fact that the CMAS decided on the usage of swimming dresses at the meeting in Rome at the weekend. In accordance with the resolution the FINA’s rules are authoritative, which have to be complied with at this round as well. This means, only the dresses in the attached chart, which have a factory-made logo of FINA, can be used. According to the rules the dress must not go below the knees, must not cover the shoulders and the neck, in case of men the dress must not go above the navel. The dress cannot have a zip or a velcro, and it cannot even have a protruding hydrodynamic part. The material must be textile. Only one dress can be used while swimming – this rule is still valid.

Bring your dresses with you for the verification on Friday, please.

CMAS World Cup 2008, 2nd series

Debrecen Diving Club and the Hungarian Fin Swimming Association on behalf of CMAS –
International Diving Association-, held the 2nd series of the CMAS Diving and Fin Swimming World Cup with great success in Hajduszoboszló between March 7th and 10th, 2008.

In the Hungarian round more than 200 athletes from 10 countries took part; among others the Chinese National team.
It set a high value of the competition that the Árpád swimming pool was a qualification scene for the 2009 AGFIS World Games as well. Due to this, fantastic times have been achieved, like the Ukrainian Andriij Danchenko�s new world record in 100m bifins with 45,36.

The athletes of the Debrecen Diving Club also did their best. They won 7 medals altogether.Petra Senánszky won two gold and one silver medals and she can also boast about a new national junior record in 100 metre bifins, which is her second qualification – besides the 200metres-, to the Junior World Cup.
In 50 m diving Dorottya Nagy became second and in 200m bifins she won the bronze medal. In the adult field Mátyás Szenes – European Champion in 2007, and world record holder-, became third in two events, which show that Mátyás has good chances among the adult as well.

10nd CMAS Finswimming Junior World Championships

The FEDECAS /Columbian Underwater Federation/ organises the 10th Fin Swimming Junior World Championship. The competition will take place in Neiva - Colombia, between July 2nd and 11th, 2008.

CMAS World Cup 2008, 2nd series

CMAS World Cup 2008, 2nd series are held on March 8th-9th in Hajdúszoboszló. This is the third time that the Debrecen Diving Club was given the right by CMAS International Diving and Fin Swimming Association together with the Hungarian Diving and Fin Swimming Association to organize this international fin swimming event.

1st CMAS World Games in Fin Swimming – Adult World Cup – Bari, Italy 2007

More than 1000 athletes took part in the 1st CMAS World Games in Fin Swimming, held between July 26th and Aug 4th2007, in Bari, Italy.
Dániel Kókai, the athlete of the Debrecen Diving Club, lived up to the expectations, and won the silver medal in 200 metre bifins breaking his own as well as the national record by more than 3 seconds.
In this same event, Mátyás Szenes, who three weeks before had come first in 200 metre fin swimming with a junior world record in the Junior European Cup, became 6th in the field of the adult, missing only a few hundreds of a second to his own world record.
